SOP: LinkedIn Accepted Connection → Coffee Chat
Objective: Convert accepted LinkedIn connections into qualified 15-minute coffee chats.
Goal: Start conversations, not pitch.
Step 1: They accept your connection.
Wait 30 minutes to 24 hours.
Do not message instantly.
Step 2: First Message
Hey {{First Name}}—thanks for connecting.
Quick question...
Has producing content across all your client brands become a bottleneck yet, or are you all still ahead of it?
Then wait.
No follow-up in the same message.
If they reply YES
Example:
Yeah.
Definitely.
It's getting difficult.
Reply:
Makes sense. Out of curiosity, what's been the hardest part?
- Keeping each client's voice consistent?
- Team capacity?
- Revisions?
- Something else?
Wait.
If they explain...
Reply:
That's actually why I reached out.
We built Callisto to handle that production layer before content reaches the team, so every request starts much further down the field.
Would you be opposed to grabbing a quick 15-minute coffee chat sometime this week?
If they reply NO
Example:
Nope.
Reply:
Nice. Sounds like you've got good systems in place.
Out of curiosity, about how many client brands are you all managing?
If under ~5 brands
They're probably not your ICP.
Reply politely.
Stay connected.
No meeting.
If 10+ brands
Continue.
That's impressive.
Curious what's allowed you all to stay ahead of the capacity curve?
If pain appears...
Move into coffee chat.
If they say "We're using AI already."
Reply:
Nice. A lot of agencies we talk to are.
Has it actually reduced editing time, or is your team still rewriting quite a bit?
Wait.
If they're still editing heavily...
That's exactly the problem we solve.
Worth a quick coffee chat this week?
If they ask
"What do you do?"
Reply:
We help agencies keep every client's content consistent as they grow by giving their team a much stronger first draft.
Less rewriting.
Faster turnaround.
More capacity.
Happy to show you if you're curious.
If they ask for a website
Send:
https://callistosystems.online
Happy to walk you through it on a quick coffee chat if that's easier.
If they ask for pricing
Do not negotiate in DMs.
Reply:
It depends on the number of brands and what your workflow looks like.
Easier to explain in about 15 minutes than over LinkedIn messages.
If they go silent
Wait 3 business days.
Send:
Just wanted to bump this in case it got buried.
Wait another week.
Send:
No worries if the timing isn't right.
If content operations ever become a bottleneck, feel free to reach out.
Then stop.
Coffee Chat Booking
Once they agree:
Awesome.
What's the best email to send an invite to?
After they provide it:
Perfect. I'll get something over to you shortly.
Rules for Mariah
- Never send paragraphs.
- One question at a time.
- Don't explain Callisto until they describe a problem.
- Don't send a Calendly link before they agree to meet.
- Don't argue with objections.
- If they're not a fit, move on.
-
Every message should have one purpose:
-
Start a conversation.
- Find pain.
- Confirm fit.
- Book the coffee chat.
One change I'd make from your cold-call process is this: on LinkedIn, you have more time. Use that advantage. Instead of trying to book a meeting after one exchange, aim for 2–4 meaningful back-and-forth messages first. By the time you ask for the coffee chat, it should feel like the natural next step because they've already acknowledged a problem you solve.
